Terms of Use
These terms of use govern your access to and use of the Free App Dev Studio website and our applications, including Free Receipt Scanner and Free Note Scanner (collectively, the "apps"). By downloading, installing, or using any of our apps, or by browsing this website, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our apps or this website. We have tried to write this in plain, readable language rather than dense legal boilerplate, but it remains a formal agreement between you and Free App Dev Studio.
Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to anyone who downloads, installs, opens, or otherwise uses any app published by Free App Dev Studio, as well as anyone who visits this website. Our apps are general-purpose utility tools and are not directed specifically at children. If you are using our apps on behalf of an organization, you are agreeing to these terms both individually and on behalf of that organization, and you represent that you have the authority to do so.
License to use the apps
Subject to your compliance with these terms, Free App Dev Studio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use our apps on devices that you own or control, solely for your own personal or internal business purposes. This license does not give you any ownership interest in the apps themselves. All rights, title, and interest in and to the apps, including all associated intellectual property rights, remain with Free App Dev Studio. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of any app, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
Acceptable use
You agree to use our apps and this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these terms. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you agree that you will not: use the apps to store, process, or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to possess; attempt to interfere with, disable, or disrupt the apps or this website; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks connected to our apps or this website; use any automated system, such as a bot or scraper, to access this website in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce; or use our apps or this website in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair them. Because our apps operate offline and store content locally on your own device, you are solely responsible for the content you create, scan, or store using the apps, and for complying with any laws that apply to that content in your jurisdiction.
Your content and your device
Any receipts, notes, images, or other content you create or import using our apps belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over content you generate using the apps, and because that content is stored locally on your own device rather than on servers we operate, we generally have no access to it and no ability to retrieve, back up, or restore it on your behalf. You are responsible for backing up any content you wish to preserve, whether by using your device's own backup features or by exporting content from the app using your device's sharing tools. If you lose your device, reset it, or uninstall an app, content stored only within that app may be permanently lost, and Free App Dev Studio will not be able to recover it for you.
Third-party services
Our apps are distributed through the Google Play Store, and this website displays advertising served through Google's advertising network. Your use of the Google Play Store is governed by Google's own terms of service, and your interaction with any advertisement displayed on this website may be subject to the terms and privacy practices of the advertiser or ad network involved, none of which are operated or controlled by Free App Dev Studio. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party service that our apps or website may link to or rely upon for distribution.
Disclaimer of warranties
Our apps and this website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, that any scanned or captured content will be perfectly accurate, or that the apps will meet your particular requirements. You use our apps at your own discretion and risk, and you are solely responsible for any damage to your device or loss of data that may result from that use, except where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Free App Dev Studio and its individual contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, our apps or this website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Changes to the apps or these terms
We may update, modify, or discontinue any app, or any feature within an app, at any time, with or without notice, as part of our ongoing effort to keep our software simple and useful. We may also revise these terms of use from time to time to reflect changes in our apps, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "last updated" badge at the top of this page. Continuing to use our apps or this website after a revised version of these terms has been posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
Termination
You may stop using our apps at any time simply by uninstalling them from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue any app, or your ability to use it, at our discretion, for example if an app must be withdrawn from the Google Play Store for policy or technical reasons. Because our apps do not require an account, there is no separate account to terminate.
